JACKSON WANG

BRAND EXPERIENCE DESIGN AND CONSULTANT

Born in Taiwan, grew up in California USA, currently working in New York City, Jackson is fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin. With 26 years of professional design experience in corporate and agency, Jackson has worked as a typographer, graphic designer, fashion retail art director, retail design director, brand creative director/group manager and Design Thinking practitioner and innovation leader. He held numerous executive brand design positions across Advertising, Beauty, Fashion, Automotive, FMCG. Such capability and achievement is not merely limited to the exercise of visual form or style. Rather it is an amalgamation of a genuine passion and belief in holistic brand design and its role in business, lead from strategy to execution excellence, resourceful co-creation, and effective communication in complex global and regional business dynamics. Jackson honors opportunities and challenges that leverage his strength as innovative design expert to solidify exclusive brand personas and iconic brand experience.

After graduated from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California, Jackson started his design career as Senior Typographer at Hallmark Cards Inc., where he acquired the keen eyes and the attention to details. At Neiman Marcus, America's premier luxury fashion house, he demonstrated his fashion flare in photography, set design and publication design.

In 1998, Jackson was appointed as founder / Creative Director of Ford Motor Company’s Brand Imaging Group in California, USA. He was responsible for the image and the experience of FMC brands, include Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Volvo, Mazda. Jackson was member of Ford Motor Company’s Global Brand Committee, and the voice of brand experience design to OCCE (Office of Chairman and Chief Executive). Jackson led internal design talent acquisition and management, new business creation, and external vendor management. He led the proprietary brand imaging process and story-telling process to elevated visual and emotional brand building capability across FMC brand portfolio.

In 2007, Jackson became the founder of P&G Greater China Retail Design Team, in 2011 P&G Global Design Leadership Team, in 2014 One Asia Leadership Team. He led internal design talent acquisition and management, retail design capability building and new business creation. Jackson also qualified agency contracts and performance schedule, retail quality process, budget management of annual priorities. Jackson is recognized as ‘Mentor’ to designers, marketers and sales. He was invited and spoke at Marketing University, Retail Road Show, World Design Meeting, Design Firm Summit, and Brand Artist.

 

Jackson is trained expert in Stanford School d.School’s Design Thinking since 2009. He planned and facilitated multiple P&G Design Thinking Workshops, including: Japan Laundry Workshop, Rejoice Workshop, ‘$2 a Day’ Workshop, Pampers Workshop. And he is member of P&G and Global Design Thinking Network. Result: over 120+ ideas generated, over 250+ marketers, designers, engineers, sales, market researchers were exposed and trained by Jackson.

 

In 2017, Jackson is appointed Vice President of Retail Design for L'Oreal USA, located in New York City. His responsibilities include uplift L'Oreal's beauty brand image and retail experience across United States, with focus on driving seamless retail experience between online and retail environment.

Jackson’s design mastery will further brand reputation and business growth by driving emotional-based vision and execution excellence, both online and offline. Jackson honors design opportunities and challenges that leverage his strength as design practitioner and strategist to solidify exclusive brand personas to iconic status.​
